Fort Worth Youth Orchestra
Fort Worth, TX
In 2019, The Projects Group was engaged by the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra to serve as their owner’s representative during the assessment of their existing facility and the feasibility planning of a future expansion. They had not significantly altered their historic property in nearly a half century.
We guided them through determining costs for keeping their existing facility, relocating to a different facility, or building a new building on their existing property. After determining through market research that staying at their existing facility would be advantageous from a student-service and real-estate perspective, we supported FWYO in reviewing different spaceplanning and programmatic goals. They had not undergone an architectural master plan or a programmatic strategic plan in the past, and our experience with different performance and arts-education spaces were essential in this process.
We helped them understand different main-room options, deciding between a fixed seating auditorium or a flexible, flat-floor space that could be used for rentals. After being paused during COVID, the project is currently undergoing fundraising, and we are in a support role through that process.
